The UK manufacturer Vax has introduced a new vacuum cleaner made out of an unusual material: cardboard. The new Vax ev is a limited edition model designed by an industrial design student to show how vacuum cleaners could be made out of materials other than metal and plastic and manufactured locally, rather than being shipped around the world.
Most of the cleaner is made of corrugated cardboard, and it starts out as the box that the product is shipped in. Other components are made of pure nylon plastic, which can be easily recycled. No information on pricing has been released, but Vax did say that they will be offering the cleaner as a limited edition as they are unsure of demand.
