If you're in the market for a last-minute TV deal to cap off the holiday shopping season, Vizio's relatively new 4K D-series TVs may just be the ticket.
Like the company's P- and M-series 4K TVs that have impressed us all year long, the D-series offers a no-frills design, 4K resolution, and smart features, but packages them into a set that's a little more affordable.
The "D" in this case almost certainly stands for "discount," with Vizio apparently taking the M-series TVs and trimming a few components to cut the price by anywhere from $30 to $100, depending on screen size. The TVs are available at a variety of retailers, including Vizio, Best Buy, Dell, and Walmart.
While the cut corners likely mean these sets won't perform as well as the M-series we reviewed earlier this year, it does mean you can snag a 50-inch 4K TV with full-array backlighting for just under $600.
{{amazon name="VIZIO M50-C1 50-Inch 4K Ultra HD Smart LED TV (2015 Model)", asin="B00T63YUJO", align="right"}} That's a great deal, especially considering this TV still comes with all the bells and whistles that we liked about Vizio's other 2015 TVs, like improved upscaling and a no-nonsense smart platform.
But if you'd prefer not to skimp, we recommend stepping up to the M Series. It's a proven commodity, and we're confident it'll deliver exceptional value for your money. Best of all, it's available from 43 inches (MSRP $549.99) to 80 inches (MSRP $3,999) depending on how much room Santa has left in his sleigh.
