Instant-film camera company Polaroid intends to throw its hat into the TV ring during next week's International CES in Las Vegas, where it will show off two new 50-inch TVs: the 50GSR7100, a high-definition, Roku Ready Smart TV and the 50GSR9000 UHD TV. This will be the first time Polaroid attempts to breach the higher-end TV market.

The 50GSR7100 Roku Ready Smart TV features a built-in Roku stick in lieu of the usual "smart platform." The built-in Roku feature allows consumers instant access to Roku functionality. The GSR7100 series will be available in various sizes, ranging from 32- to 69 inches. The 50-inch iteration carries an MSRP of $599.99.

Polaroid's UHD GSR9000 Series is a 4K-capable HDTV, meaning its native resolution is 3,840 by 2,160 pixels. With this TV, Polaroid is jumping onto the UHD bandwagon with the ranks of Samsung, LG, Toshiba, Sony, Panasonic, and Vizio. The 50GSR9000 UHD will be priced at a very affordable MSRP of $999.99—something that Chinese manufacturer Seiki has done before.
