If TCL’s goal was to win “Most Appreciated TV Brand” at CES 2025, they may have done it with the announcement of the QM6K, bringing high-end Mini LED innovation to a shockingly affordable starting price of just $749. What’s more, the TVs are available for pre-order immediately.
TCL regularly makes our list of Best TVs so we're thrilled that they're coming out of the gate so quickly in 2025.
TCL QM6K Series
The QM6K wasn’t just the most intriguing TV that TCL announced at CES—it was the only TV. A spokesperson confirmed that other, higher-end models would be coming later in the year, but the 6 Series is not sharing the spotlight for now (not that it needs to).
Among the performance highlights, a redesigned lens on the LEDs promises to increase peak brightness by more than 53%, and a decreased gap between the backlight and the diffuser panel aims to “virtually eliminate” haloing (a.k.a. blooming). The quantum dot crystals have also been reformulated and can now achieve 98%+ of the DCI-P3 color gamut.
Halo Control Technology Suite
Many of these changes fall under a new set of features TCL is calling the Halo Control Technology Suite. In short, think faster, brighter picture quality with little to no halos, trailing, or ghostly artifacts.
Input lag has been reduced to what they’re calling Zero Delay, and a bi-directional 23-bit backlight controller can command up to 65,000 levels of brightness for each LED.
The QM6K TVs will support Dolby Vision IQ, HDR10+ and HDR10, as well as IMAX Enhanced and AMD FreeSync certified.
The QM6K Series will be available in a 50-inch ($749.99 MSRP) 55-inch ($799.99 MSRP), 65-inch ($999.99 MSRP), 75-inch ($1,299.99 MSRP), 85-inch ($1,999.99 MSRP), and 98-inch ($3,499.99 MSRP). They're available for pre-order immediately at tcl.com.
