It's the weekend again. You can celebrate your days off enjoying the last days of summer outside or you can sit at home and play video games. We won't judge. Whatever you prefer, we're here to help—although this article is for the screen junkies in our readership.

We've uncovered a bunch of deals of video games this week that should keep you occupied through the weekend and other relaxing days to come. Build up your video game collection and show off to your friends with some of the deals listed below.

Nintendo Wii U Console Deluxe Set

The Wii U is less its own console and more of a fancy controller for the Wii—similar to a tablet with a separate screen. It works well for certain games that use a split screen for a better multiplayer experience. This deal at Best Buy costs $349 for the console, a separate Wii controller, and a copy of Nintendo Land. The price above reflects the inclusion of a free $50 Best Buy gift card that can be used towards a future purchase.

Mortal Kombat Komplete Edition

It's the game that influenced a whole genre of video games. You can still find arcade versions of the original Mortal Kombat, but if you want something more modern be sure to pick up the Mortal Kombat Komplete Edition now on sale at Amazon for $13. The price here is for the PC download code, but you can also get discounted versions of the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 games as well. It's currently a part of the Immortal Action Pack, which also includes sales on Batman: Arkham City.

SNES/NES FC Twin Video Game System

If you're a fan of retro gaming, you don't have to miss out due to the prevalence of new technology. The FC Twin with two controllers is on sale at Amazon and can play both NES and SNES cartridges, so now might be the time to dig out your old 8-bit and 16-bit game collection. The retailer giant has the system for $38 with free shipping if you have Amazon Prime—down from $44.

Xbox 360 320GB Hard Drive Bundle

If you own an Xbox 360 but need more space for Xbox Live indie downloads or media, you can purchase this 320GB hard drive on sale at Groupon for $94. This is $35 off the list price and includes free shipping and the option for free returns. The bundle also comes with three free digital downloads: Ms. Splosion Man, Need for Speed Hot Pursuit, and Pinball FX2, which are all good time wasters.

Max Payne 3 for the Xbox 360

Many of the games on this list are for casual players that may not want to commit 20 hours to a plot-driven experience. However, if you do want that story, you can check out Max Payne 3 for the PlayStation 3 by Rockstar Games, which is on sale over at Newegg for $9 with free shipping. This is a nice discount, especially considering that it cost $60 upon release in 2012. The game is critically acclaimed and offers both a single player and multiplayer shooting experience.

Scribblenauts Unlimited for the Nintendo 3DS

The final deal on our list is one that you can play both indoors and outdoors. Scribblenauts Unlimited for the Nintendo 3DS allows you to interact with the world and solve puzzles through drawing and summoning any object you can think of. It's a fun game for children and adults and it's on sale at Newegg for $17 with free shipping.
