Early Access drops on November 12, and the full release drops on November 19.
Battlefield 2042 is a multiplayer, team-based competitive game where players must work together to take down their opponents on the massive battlefield. This latest entry in the franchise introduces new game modes, roles, and more simultaneous players than ever—up to 128 of them in the All-Out Warfare sandbox mode.
Fans of classic Battlefield games can play Battlefield Portal, where they can choose reimaginings of older maps and make their own maps with custom game rules in Builder mode. Hazard Zone pits players in teams of four to retrieve objectives before their opponents.
Battlefield 2042 also does away with the series’s older class system and replaces them with Specialists, ten hero-like roles that players can choose from to make a team.
For those interested in competitive play, EA plans to roll out Seasons about once every three months. Each Season will introduce new free and paid content, such as new Specialists.
The game is currently in Beta, but Early Access starts November 12 and the full launch is on November 19. If you’re a fan of older Battlefield entries or multiplayer hero-based shooters, be sure to check out Battlefield 2042.
