Never Fully Dressed makes bold, colorful clothes that make a statement—is it worth it?

Anyone who knows me knows that I love color. My motto? All the color, all the time. The few times I’ve tried buying solid black, white, or tan garments, or even certain earth tones, I almost always end up returning them. The reason? I feel my best when draped in bright colors and bold patterns. It’s because of this that I’m always on the hunt for brands that fit the bill.

While many exist with one or two colorful releases every season, there’s one brand that goes above and beyond with each and every launch. I’m talking about Never Fully Dressed. The UK brand has long shipped to the US, and now has not one but two brick-and-mortar stores Stateside—one in New York and one in LA. Keep reading to learn why I’m absolutely smitten with the brand.

What is Never Fully Dressed?

Never Fully Dressed is a UK-based women’s fashion brand dedicated to the concept of “feel-good dressing.” Each color is carefully selected and all patterns are crafted in-house. Shoppers can choose from a rainbow of blouses, skirts, pants, dresses, jackets, and more.

Most recently, the brand dipped into the swim category. In addition to offering a seriously impressive selection of cheerful silhouettes, Never Fully Dressed is applauded for its inclusive sizing, which ranges from women’s US sizes 2 to 26.

What I like about Never Fully Dressed

There are so many gorgeous, colorful items to choose from

At any given time, there are dozens of different dresses, skirts, cardigans, blouses, tees, and trousers to shop at Never Fully Dressed. Instead of your basic solid colors, though, Never Fully Dressed specializes in ultra-unique patterns that are hand-designed and crafted with the latest trends in mind. In the few instances where the brand does create a solid-toned silhouette, you can guarantee that it’s interesting in some other way, whether it’s the cut or finish (Bring on all the jacquard metallics!).

The brand offers inclusive sizing

Despite it being the year 2024, many brands still slack when it comes to inclusive sizing, but not Never Fully Dressed. The brand offers petite, standard, and plus-sizes in every garment, whether it's a mini dress, swimsuit, or the Jaspre Wrap Skirt (one of the brand’s best-sellers).

Popular silhouettes are constantly re-released in new colors and patterns

Never Fully Dressed has a few silhouettes that are so beloved that the brand keeps releasing them in new patterns. In addition to the Jaspre Wrap Skirt, the Wrap Dress ($240), and Mini Tilly Dress ($145) are popular styles that regularly get refreshed.

What I don’t like about Never Fully Dressed

Some garments seem expensive for the quality

Having shopped at Never Fully Dressed for the past three or four years, I’ve noticed a rise in prices at the brand. While some garments warrant a price hike, others don’t. For example, I bought the (currently unavailable) Mosaic Savannah Mini Dress for my birthday this year, and while I love the colors and overall print, the fabric was stiffer and lower quality than I expected. That being said, I kept it and still wore it. In that way, the brand can be a bit of a hit or a miss. Thankfully, returns are accepted—though, you only have 28 days to make them and all tags must be intact.

Is Never Fully Dressed worth it?

Yes, the brand is a mecca for inclusive dopamine dressing.

If you’ve been on the hunt for gorgeous colorful clothing that looks chic and not elementary, Never Fully Dressed is a must. At this point, most of my closet is comprised of items from the brand. Some of my all-time favorite garments include the Oversized Shirt (a currently out-of-stock silhouette that I own in various patterns; it’s similar to the Geanie, $130, and Miley Shirts, $115), the Cardigan ($160; which I own in three prints), and the Vienna Wrap Dress ($160). All of these items are high quality and can be worn in various ways, making them versatile, vibrant additions to my closet. My biggest advice? If you see a garment that you love in your size, act fast. Never Fully Dressed has many, many fans and new prints fly off the shelves.
