I love wearing dresses—they're an easy outfit wrapped into one piece you can toss on and step out the door. And while dresses are sold practically everywhere, including athletic brands and thrift stores, it can be difficult to find a dress that bridges the gap between seasons and doesn't come with the cost of a fast fashion nametag. So when asked to try the Kasey Dress from Faherty, I was all in and wondering why I hadn't heard of the brand yet.

Faherty is a clothing brand founded by twin brothers in 2013, known for its sustainable, beach-inspired apparel. It offers high-quality, casual wear for men and women using eco-friendly fabrics "developed by the Sustainable Apparel Coalition and Textile Exchange" and crafting clothing through a responsible manufacturing process. Faherty's stores negate energy usage through Renewable Energy Certificates, and the brand ships orders in FSC-certified and recyclable paper bags. At a glance, Faherty's clothes have a casual vibe that is suitable for everyday wear whether you're going to an office or a beachside brunch.
What we liked about the Faherty Kasey Dress
This dress is a must-buy.
The fabric is soft and breathable
The dress is made from soft, comfortable, 100% Organic Cotton gauze fabric, which gives it a luxuriously breezy feel. Its breathable and lightweight material makes it perfect for warm weather, though you could wear it on cooler days too with a layer underneath. The sleeves may make it hot for some, but I liked to wear this item as a dress and as a pool coverup to keep my skin out of the sun. An added plus is that the cotton is easy to care for: just wash in cold water and air dry (hanging or laid flat).
It has a comfortable fit
I love a good casual dress, and the sizing from Faherty was spot-on. I ordered my usual size, and I loved that the Kasey Dress was roomy (as opposed to form-fitting) without drowning me in fabric. Some reviewers note that the dress runs large, so based on your preference you may opt to size down.
What we didn't like about the Faherty Kasey Dress
I'm grasping at straws here because this dress has so much going for it. The only minor drawback I noticed was how loose the sleeves are, making them a bit of a hazard to dip into food or get wet while doing dishes. The sleeves aren't tight, so you can't really roll them up. However, if you save chores for another day your dress will stay clean!
I'll also mention that the dress only comes in white as I'm writing my review, though it came in a lilac-like shade called Nirvana that I tried myself. I hope Faherty releases more colors of this style, and based on the dress's reviews I'm not the only one who wants another shade.

Though the price tag is high for a single item, the organic cotton fabric and Faherty's ethical production make this a high-quality piece that reflects eco-friendly values.
