Tuft & Needle has created the best foam mattress we have ever tested. This updated version (of the 2021 Tuft & Needle Original) has some of the best cooling performance we have ever seen (not always the case for an all-foam mattress). Its dense build isolates motion exceptionally well, too. For under $1,000 for a queen, we think it's the total package.

Sure, Serta makes bold claims about the Arctic’s cooling prowess, but our lab tests back it up, finding that the Arctic diffuses heat better than its competition. Don’t let the fact that the Purple mattress protector feels light and thin fool you: A lack of extra fabric or quilting on top doesn’t make it ineffective at all. During testing, there were no leaks or seepage. We also love that the protective fabric covers all five sides of the mattress, not just the top. While other mattress protectors tend to use mesh on the sides, Purple keeps the entire surface dry.
