Sleep is such an essential part of our daily lives and overall health, so it's best to do what you can to get the most out of it. A great way to optimize your sleep is by investing in comfortable sleepwear that'll keep you cozy throughout the night. Printfresh is a sleepwear brand that's on the rise—it's known for its bold and vibrant patterns and high-quality sleepwear that allow you to rest comfortably without sacrificing style.

As someone who suffers from night sweats and overheating during sleep, it's been difficult to find sleepwear that's airy enough to keep me cool and comfortable at night. This made me hesitant to try out Printfresh's pieces because I thought they would only add to my nighttime discomfort. I'm also typically not a fan of bright colors and bold patterns. I ended up finding a few sets that I liked, so I decided to keep an open mind and test them anyway. I tested out two pajama sets and wore them to bed several times a week over a month—here's how it went.

What is Printfresh?

Printfresh prides itself on sustainability with eco-friendly fabric and mail packaging.

Printfresh is a sleepwear brand that makes pieces inspired by plants, animals, and home décor. Its pieces feature fun, vibrant, and unique designs that are actual works of art—they begin as gouache paintings that are eventually hand-screen printed or embroidered by artisans. It also sells other apparel, home goods, and accessories. Printfresh prides itself on sustainability—time and effort are put into the production process in an attempt to remain as eco-friendly as possible. All of its apparel is made of 100% organic cotton. To prevent unethical practices in manufacturing, a third-party auditor is used to ensure that the pieces are Supplier Ethical Data Exchange (Sedex) reviewed.

Printfresh even reduces waste in its packaging—it uses 100% recycled ivory poly mailers made from 100% recycled content and 50% post-consumer content. It also minimizes waste by leaving very little fabric left over and any surplus scraps get stored for upcycled projects. Its sewing factory partner is solar-powered and uses recycled water, while half of its inventory is transported by boat to reduce its carbon footprint. All materials used are plant-based, with no animal byproducts being leather used. Printfresh engages in many other practices to ensure that it prioritizes sustainability.

How I tested Printfresh

I tested two Printfresh sleepwear sets—one Short Sleep Set and the Queen of Hearts Cami Cropped Pants Set. I alternated between the two and wore each for one or two nights per week for one month. I also washed both sets multiple times throughout the testing period and they held up well.

What I liked about Printfresh

Printfresh's sleepwear offers unique, vibrant patterns that make sleeping fun.

The sleepwear is made of high-quality fabric

Upon opening the Printfresh packaging, it was clear that the sets were high quality. The fabric was durable and the pieces were stitched well. Even after several washes and uses, the stitching was still very much intact (aside from my bunny nibbling on the strings of my shorts). The waistlines had thick elastic that made movement easier and more comfortable. I also loved that both the shorts and pants had two deep pockets that made it easy to carry my phone, lip balm, and other small essentials around my apartment.

Perhaps the biggest pro about the fabric was its comfortability. I typically despise wearing bottoms to bed and only opt for oversized T-shirts because I get extremely hot and uncomfortable during sleep, even with the AC blasting. I thought Printfresh's shorts and capris would only add to my nighttime misery, but I was wrong. The shorts were loose, airy, and pleasant enough to allow me to sleep through the night with minimal issues. I didn't find myself waking up at 3 a.m. to sweaty sheets, which was a relief. The capris weren't as cool and comfortable as the shorts and were a bit harder to sleep in, but they were better than any other sleepwear pants I had worn in the past.

The patterns made going to bed more fun

As I mentioned earlier, bright colors and patterns aren't usually my thing. As someone who typically sticks to minimalism and neutral tones, I was pleasantly surprised at how much I enjoyed Printfresh's patterns. I was always excited to wear the pieces before bed, and they made me even more excited to get to sleep than usual, which I didn't think was possible. I even noticed myself waking up a bit happier because of my amusing pajamas. My boyfriend even got excited every time he saw me wearing them because of how cute they were, and we even began calling the shorts set my "apple jammies." The hearts set made me feel more feminine, which was a big change from the large men's tees I'd normally wear to bed.

What I didn't like about Printfresh

The sizing was a bit off

The only complaint I have about Printfresh was the sizing of the capri pants I tested. They were big even though I ordered my usual size. I had to tie the strings extra tight to prevent them from falling down, and that made the waistline a tad bit tighter than I would've liked. The shorts, however, fit me just fine, so there may be inconsistencies in Printfresh's sizing. Be sure to keep this in mind when ordering its sleepwear sets.

Would I recommend Printfresh?

Printfresh has a wide variety of sleepwear styles for you to choose from.

Yes, especially if you're into fun patterns.

Yes, I would definitely recommend Printfresh, especially to those who love fun-patterned sleepwear. I can honestly say that Printfresh's sets are my favorite pajamas I've worn during adulthood. They were fun and playful without being childish, and the comfort they offered me was top-tier. I'd specifically suggest Printfresh to those, like me, who suffer from night sweats and have a hard time getting a comfortable night's sleep. It's also amazing how sustainable Printfresh is and how much time and effort they dedicate to making sure its products have a low impact on our planet. This made wearing its sleepwear sets even more enjoyable and worthwhile. I'd love to purchase more of Printfresh's loungewear and would love to try out its robes and nightgowns.
