Samsung's POWERbot VR9000 robot vacuum cleaner is finally hitting store shelves. With an MSRP of $999, it's definitely a pricey purchase, but you're getting one of the best automated floor cleaners on the market. We tested it in our labs and found that the POWERbot has great suction and navigation.

It's a pricey purchase, but you're getting one of the best automated floor cleaners on the market.

Not only did it pick up dirt, it excelled at cleaning up pet hair too. This little robot gobbled up 75 percent of the pet hair we left out for it. At the end of the day, the VR9000 picked up a total of 10 grams of dirt. That might not sound like much, but the VR9000 can be set to run automatically every day. So at the end of the week, that's about 70 grams–comparable to a full-sized vacuum.

But it's not all sunshine when it comes to the VR9000. This robot vacuum has more power than others because it's so much larger. That extra volume makes it tough for the POWERbot to slip under furniture and counters. And that high price tag will turn off a lot of potential buyers.

However, if you're looking for a device to help maintain your floors, you can't get any more technologically advance than the Samsung POWERbot VR9000.
