September is National Self-Care Awareness Month, making it the perfect time of the year to get some “me” time in. There's plenty of ways to prioritize your physical and mental health, but one of the most important (and simplest) self-care practices you can do for yourself is getting a good night's sleep, so you can start your day feeling rested and refreshed. If you could use a little help in the sleep department, consider treating yourself to the Hatch Restore 2 this September—here's why we think it's worth the splurge.
Shop the Hatch Restore 2 for more restful sleep.
The next-generation version of the brand's brand’s popular Hatch Restore device, the Restore 2 is a noise machine, night light, sunrise lamp, and alarm clock all in one. It works by simulating the sunrise and sunset in the morning and nighttime to create a calming, cozy atmosphere and help you drift peacefully off to sleep. If you've ever struggled to fall and stay asleep (or hate the noise of a standard alarm clock or blaring phone alarm) the Restore 2 can help you customize a sleep routine to help you unwind at night and wake up well-rested in the morning.
It features many worthwhile upgrades over its predecessor include a more aesthetically-pleasing design, three built-in speakers (compared to the original Restore’s one), 21 new sleep sounds, 10 new alarm sounds, and new light and sound pairings for the sunset setting. Sounds include noises like “forest birds” and “morning singing bowls,” among several other soothing options.
In terms of design, the device is available in three shades: Latte, Putty, and Slate, and is covered in a natural linen fabric that helps diffuse its light, similar to a lampshade. It can shed light in a range of 18 total colors, which you set in the app, or choose from its preprogrammed color palettes for your Unwind, Sleep, and Rise routines.
In our review of the device, our tester noted that, although expensive, the Restore 2 "makes an attractive addition to your nightstand," and is "easy to use" and "effective at creating a relaxing sleep environment."
If you'd like access to the Restore's 2 full set of features, you'll need to sign up for a Hatch Sleep Membership, which costs $49.99 per year (or $4.99 per month). This subscription will give you full access to the Hatch app’s curated playlists of music, dreamscapes, guided rest exercises, sleep stories, and the full library of noise and light settings.
