On Monday, May 22, Dyson announced new products coming later this year, including two new air purifiers, a robot vacuum, wet-roller vacuums, and two next-generation cordless vacuums.

In late 2020, Dyson opened several new R&D facilities in Singapore, the U.K., and the Philippines, and it appears all that investment has now paid off. Here's what we learned about the new Dyson lineup, including the expected availability dates.

A new and improved robot vacuum cleaner

The new Dyson 360 Vis Nav robotic vacuum claims to have twice the suction of any other robot vacuum.

The forthcoming Dyson 360 Vis Nav is the successor to the 360 Eye and is a big step forward, technologically speaking.

Like its predecessor, the Vis Nav uses a panoramic camera to navigate a room. The new Dyson robot vacuum has over 26 sensors that can detect everything from air quality to wall placement, and the data collected is visible via an LCD screen on the robot itself.

On the cleaning front, the Vis Nav has taken a cue from Dyson’s cordless vacuums and imported the Fluffy brush head, made of soft nylon and carbon bristles. The design allows it to specialize in cleaning hardwood floors.

The Vis Nav also has an actuator that pops out and skims the edges of a room. This tool helps with wall-to-wall cleaning—a task many robot vacuums struggle with.

“If you want a good vacuum cleaner, this is the one to purchase," Mike Rapicano, senior product owner for robotics at Dyson, said at the May 22 announcement event.

We can’t wait to test the new Dyson robot vacuum in our labs and put the new features to the test. At publication, no release date or pricing information was available for the Dyson 360 Vis Nav.

The vacuum attachment has two water tanks—one for clean water and one for dirty water.

The Submarine wet roller head is Dyson's first foray into wet-dry vacuums. The V12 and V15 Submarine can clean up spills and stains on bare floors and pick up minor debris.

The Submarine models have separate dirty and clean water tanks in the wet brush head—a crucial feature for preventing cross-contamination.

These models boast an eight-point hydration system to ensure even water distribution across the rollers, allowing the Submarines to clean up to 1,200 square feet at a time. The roller heads are washable.

These should be in the same vein as the Karcher FC3 or Tineco S3, and we look forward to testing them out in our labs.

The pricing and expected release dates for the V12 and V15 Submarine were unavailable at publication.

The new Dyson air purifier continues the commitment to air quality

The new Dyson Purifier Big+Quiet Formaldehyde is designed for large, open-space floor plans.

Based on our lab tests, Dyson has always been on the cutting edge of providing improved air quality.

The tradition continues with the announcement of the Dyson Purifier Big+Quiet Formaldehyde and Dyson Purifier HEPA Big+Quiet. The Big+Quiet Formaldehyde is designed for large open-plan spaces, while the HEPA Big+Quiet is for commercial use.

Both units are capable of projecting filtered air up to 32 feet.

Beyond air purifiers, Dyson plans to place HEPA H13 filters in its new robot vacuum and its next generation of cordless vacuums. The new Outsized cordless vacuums claim to be able to filter out viruses.

These products should launch this year, but Dyson has not revealed when the Purifier Big+Quiet air purifiers will be available in the U.S., nor their pricing.

Dyson is adding two new cordless vacuum cleaners to their lineup in 2023.

Dyson also announced a fifth generation of cordless vacuums, the Dyson Gen5detect and Dyson Gen5outsize. The new Dyson cordless vacuums deliver more powerful suction than ever before. The suction and filtration are so good that Dyson claims these new cordless models can capture viruses in your home.

One major update is the new Fluffy Optic head, which features a brighter dust-illuminating beam than the currently-available Dyson V15 Detect cordless vacuum. Of note, the Fluffy Optic head is not compatible with older models. Another notable upgrade is that the battery for both models will provide fade-free power for up to 70 minutes.

Here at Reviewed, we think Dyson is the best when it comes to lightweight and powerful cordless vacuum cleaners, and we look forward to testing out these new models at our labs.

The Detect model retails for $949, and the Outsize model retails for $1,049. Both will be available on Tuesday, June 6.
