Impeccable interior design isn’t contingent on brand names and exorbitant prices unless that’s your whole schtick. But with reasonably priced dupes from Wayfair, you can get way more bang, comfort, and elegance for your buck. We’ve got you covered, from dreamy beds to celeb-endorsed couches to chairs popularized by social media.
1. Michel Ducaroy for Ligne Roset Togo Collection
“Togo sofa” doesn’t refer to a single product but rather a furniture collection designed by French designer Michel Ducaroy in 1973. It’s comprised of eight pieces: the Lounge, the Fireside Chair, the Mini Fireside Chair, the Ottoman, the Medium Sofa, the Corner Seat, the Loveseat without Arms, and the Composition. Michel’s iconic design features a series of small, quilted cushions sewn together to create a cozy, lounge-like feel, with a low-slung, low-profile, modular design as timeless as it is reminiscent of bell bottoms and shag carpet.
The price of each piece starts in the thousands, and all styles are available in a whopping 730 colors and 62 fabrics. Fortunately, we found dupes of five of the eight that may not offer the same level of customization but will still give your living room a laid-back 70s vibe—at a fraction of the cost.
2. West Elm Auburn Collection
On the left: West Elm Auburn chair. On the right: Werner Upholstered Accent Chair by Willa Arlo Interiors.
This best-selling collection is the epitome of Mid-Century Modern (MCM), with simple, sleek, low-profile designs atop tapered wooden legs. Earthy tones, natural finishes, and clean lines add understated style to any home, with upholstery choices from leather to velvet to linen. But if Auburn beauty isn’t in the cards for you—credit and debit cards, that is—here are dupes of their popular armchair and a few other bestsellers.
3. Anthropologie Gleaming Primrose Mirror
On the left: Anthropologie Gleaming Primrose Mirror. On the right:
The “social-media famous” Gleaming Primrose Mirror was inspired by French gilt mirrors from the 18th and 19th centuries. This handcrafted, antique-looking beauty is available in two hanging sizes (a three-foot and five-foot size) and two floor sizes (a six-foot and seven-foot size). The Anglo Metal Arch Wall Mirror by Fleur De Lis Living is one of the best dupes out there and so affordable it’s almost criminal, and it’s available in five sizes.
4. CB2 Boucle Chairs
On the left: CB2 Boucle chair. On the right: Bodhe Upholstered Swivel Barrel Chair by Wade Logan.
Boucle furniture is big this year, but just what is boucle? Pronounced “boo-clay,” it’s a textured fabric made from a looped, curly pile of yarn—typically wool or a wool blend or other fibers like cotton and synthetic materials. Textures vary from soft and fluffy to coarse and rugged, depending on the yarn. CB2 offers several designers’ takes on deco-inspired boucle furniture, most famously the Gwyneth Ivory Boucle Swivel Chair By goop that blew up on TikTok. Check out our favorite dupes for a few of CB2’s best-selling living chairs.
5. Eames Lounge Chair by Herman Miller
On the left: Herman Miller Eames Lounge Chair and Ottoman. On the right: Leather Swivel Armchair and Ottoman by Corrigan Studio.
In 1956, Herman Miller released the Eames Lounge Chair and Ottomon, a MCM masterpiece designed by Charles and Ray Eames. You can spot the chair at Mallory’s desk on Archer and Frasier in the titular character’s living room. Herman Miller pieces feature heavily on Mad Men, but Matt Weiner thought that including the ever-popular Eames Lounge would prove too cliche.
But you’re not a meticulous showrunner. You’re just trying to make your office look like it belongs at Sterling Cooper. So rock the look for way, way less with the Leather Swivel Armchair and Ottoman by Corrigan Studio.
6. The Cloud by Timothy Oulton for RH
On the left: RH Cloud Sofa. On the right: Oren Ellis 3 Pieces Modular Sectional.
Known as “the world’s most comfortable sofa,” this one’s a celebrity favorite. If any materials can emulate what a cloud should feel like, feather and down wrapped around a foam core have to be it. The Cloud Couch is available in a variety of sizes and configurations, from chairs to chaises to sprawling sectionals. With three silhouettes, four lengths, two depths, and almost one hundred fabrics to choose from, it’s highly customizable—and carries the price tag of personalized luxury items. Luckily, Wayfair has a variety of cozy, affordable alternatives.
7. Jagger Dining Side Chair by Arhaus
On the left: Jagger Dining Side Chair. On the right: Clement Solid Wood Side Chair by Joss & Main.
The Jagger Dining Side Chair is, like all other pieces in the Jagger Collection, handcrafted by Indonesian artisans. It shines with a beautiful contrast of natural and industrial materials: a hand-stained mahogany frame with metal accents and earth-toned upholstery. Très MCM.
The Clement Solid Wood Side Chair by Joss & Main has the same retro silhouette and neutral coloring. A set of four is less than half the price of one Jagger, and you may need 16 dining chairs.
8.Barcelona Chair by Knoll
On the left: Knoll Barcelona Chair. On the right: Oren Ellis Magdala Accent Chair.
In 1929, Ludwig Mies van der Rohe’s aptly named Barcelona chair made its debut at the International Exposition in Barcelona, Spain, as part of the Barcelona Pavilion Exhibition, or the German Pavilion. The classically inspired design remains a Modern Movement classic, so much so that Knoll has continuously manufactured it since 1953. But if you don’t have several grand to spend on a single chair—or you do but are feeling frugal—check out the Magdala Accent Chair by Orren Ellis.
9. Balboa Rattan Counter Stool by Serena & Lily
On the left: Balboa Rattan Counter Stool. On the right: Mariah Bar Stool.
Serena & Lily’s easy, coastal aesthetic is perfect for bohemian homes. Light and airy, the Balboa Rattan Counter Stool looks like it was designed specifically for sipping tropical drinks after a day at the beach. It’s on the pricier side, though, and the Mariah Bar Stool by Birch Lane exudes a similar vibe. Best of all, you can grab four for only about $200 more than a single Balboa.
10. Brynwood Rug by Serena & Lily
On the left: Brynwood Rug by Serena & Lily. On the right: Valentin Striped Area Rug by Kelly Clarkson Home
What’s beachier than blue and off-white, sun-faded stripes interspersed with gray? The Brynwood Rug has this look to a T, but the Valentin Striped Area Rug by Kelly Clarkson Home affords the same look for less.
