16 things you didn't know you could get at Lands' End

Some surprising fan favorites are hiding between swimsuits and winter coats.

Products are chosen independently by our editors. Purchases made through our links may earn us a commission.

For years, I’ve known Lands’ End mostly through its catalogs—glossy booklets full of cozy sweater and activewear, often modeled by smiling families who always look like they just finished picking out the world’s most perfect Christmas tree. Beyond this, I didn’t give the retailer much thought, and I’m willing to admit that was my bad. Lands' End has a ton of unexpected gems in everything from clothing and decor to furniture and play.

Although we love Lands’ End for its classics, its offerings go way beyond down vests and swimsuits. We took a dive into Lands’ End’s products to find those hidden favorites that buyers love, but that you probably haven't noticed in the pages of their summer catalogs.

1. Reusable cotton masks to help you breathe easily

Affordable reusable masks are a relief for those of us whose DIY versions were less than ideal.

Lands’ End sells washable cotton face masks? For me, this was one of the biggest and best surprises. As bars and restaurants begin to open back up, many of us will be looking for reusable masks that are more reliable than a handkerchief tied around the face, and more comfortable than the DIY version we whipped up that involves rubber bands digging into our ears (no, this is not based on my own life, why do you ask?). Being able to add Lands’ End to the list of suppliers for affordable and comfortable masks is huge.

One customer is a big fan writing, "The masks are comfortable, breathable and fashionable. The elastic loop fits me well and black elastic is cool. Optional filter pocket design is very useful. Definitely recommend this product to my friends." Other reviewers agree that the masks are nicely breathable, but also note that they run a bit large. However, buyers who did a little modification say it wasn’t that hard to tailor the fit.

2. A boxwood wreath to bring some life to your front door

This bright and fragrant wreath would look just as beautiful in spring as in winter.

I knew Lands’ End offered some interior decor, but I had no idea that included fresh plants. This beautiful boxwood wreath is sturdy enough to hang on your front door, and with proper care can stay vivid and perky all season. Although the wreath is tagged as Christmas decor, the bright green color and evergreen fragrance feel appropriate to any time of year.

Finding a fresh wreath at this price point is no easy thing. "I had been looking for a boxwood wreath for over a year that was affordable and not made out of plastic. Finally, I found this one and I couldn't be more pleased. It is beautiful and full and lovely. To me, its use shouldn't be limited to Christmastime!” One reviewer writes and goes on to say the fragrance is wonderful, but does mention that their wreath didn’t come with a hook. Be sure to have one handy if you’re hoping to hang this beauty on your door.

3. A memory foam mattress that will make your back thank you

For those of us who toss and turn to get comfortable, memory foam is a gift.

Between my own adventures in bed-hunting and the hundreds of hours I must’ve logged listening to podcast ad breaks by now, you’d think I would already be familiar with every memory foam mattress on the planet. Apparently not! I was surprised to learn that Lands’ End offers a number of these luxurious mattresses—and that the prices are much lower than I would have expected from such a well-established brand.

This mattress offers two inches of gel-infused memory foam material topping a foam base. If you’ve never experienced a bed like this, I promise you, it is heaven. Not only does the memory foam mold to your body, making it easier to find a comfortable position and stay there—the gel-infused material also promotes airflow, which prevents the mattress from absorbing body heat. That means your joints, spine, and neck are all supported, and you won’t be waking up drenched in sweat. Looking to upgrade your mattress, but not ready for such a big commitment? Check out our guide to the best mattress toppers on the market right now.

4. An eco-friendly Adirondack chair for some quality kick-back time

These chairs made of recycled materials are showing up for both comfort and the environment.

I already love the versatility and casual comfort of a good Adirondack chair, but this model from Lands' End has more than that going for it. It folds down for easy storage, but is also made of 95% recycled materials—namely, 250 milk jugs per chair. Not only does this mean you can feel great about buying green, but it makes this chair incredibly sturdy and easy to clean. You can leave it out in the rain or hose it down without worrying about rust or cracking.

Despite buying and building wooden Adirondack Chairs in the past, one reviewer says, “the quality of the Lands' End Adirondack Chair is far superior! Additionally, I have a great appreciation for the environmentally friendly aspect of leveraging recycled plastics to create such a beautiful and functional chair.” Other reviewers are similarly enthused, adding that shipping was fast and easy, and that the chair is, thankfully, assembly-free.

Who knew Lands’ End offers a whole line of medical scrubs? Across the board, these scrubs are made to be liquid-repellent and machine washable, and Lands’ End also offers complimentary hemming as well as inexpensive customization. For medical professionals of all shapes and sizes, Lands’ End has you covered. One of the top rated items featured in this line is this scrub top for women, which reviewers agree is wonderfully comfortable and easy to wash. One possible downside? It runs somewhat large, so you might want to size down when ordering.

6. A cozy dog coat to keep your best friend comfortable

Growing your own coat and wearing an extra one? It's called layering.

Just because your canine friend grows their own coat doesn’t mean they’re immune to cold weather. If you’ve got a short-haired or skinny dog in your life, in particular, it might be a good idea to keep a dog coat on hand to make sure they’re always comfortable during the winter. Plus, these patterned dog coats are absurdly adorable. But that’s not the point.

This coat worked out for a reviewer's short-haired boxer mix. “She wears a fleece inside all the time and this one fits over it just right for walks or playing outside. We probably sized up a little, but I appreciate the extra length on her butt and the extra-long velcro straps. We get compliments from neighborhood people all the time!"

These seagrass baskets are a huge upgrade from overflowing shelves or plastic bins.

For some of us, finding space to store bedding, cooking supplies, papers, and all the other random debris of life is a lifelong struggle. These gorgeous and popular seagrass bins can solve the problem with elegance, providing a space to tuck anything away without creating an eyesore. Customers say this basket is the perfect size for a variety of purposes, ranging from holding baking pans to extra towels. Though some shoppers note the shipping time took a bit long.

Anyone else suddenly in the mood to read comic books by flashlight?

You can bring outdoor play inside with this sweet collapsible kids tent that comes in a variety of fun patterns. At 50 by 54 inches, it’s small enough to fit into many living rooms, meaning the kids will get to enjoy their own space without really being out of sight. The body of the tent is made of durable canvas, which resists flames and folds up tightly when playtime is over. With such a sturdy and classic design, this tent is made for imaginative play for years to come.

9. Aromatic candles to bring the scent of the woods into your home

These candles would make a thoughtful gift for anyone missing the smell of balsam.

There’s nothing like scent to change the ambiance of any space. These beautiful tin candles are currently available in two fragrances: the best-selling Balsam and Cedar, which includes notes of oak moss, cinnamon, and eucalyptus, and Winter White, which adds peppercorn, cardamom, and amber to a base of evergreen and cyprus. Reviewers say the candle burns cleanly, without creating dark or dirty smoke and fully captures the scents of the holiday all year round.

Is it normal to feel maternal love toward a bean bag chair?

I cannot get over this ridiculously adorable sheep bean bag cover. I know I am an adult with an office chair and multiple sofas, but I’m starting to think I won’t know true comfort or happiness until I’m curled up on this bean bag cover, stroking its fluffy little ears. Reviewers say their children are obsessed with this bean bag cover and also affirm that it's easy to wash and holds up well. And yes, this is just a cover—but no worries, Lands' End also sells the bean bag insert, so you can add it to your cart as well.

11. A canvas laundry bag that's easy to haul

The option to get these duffles monogrammed makes them great gifts for students heading to college.

I only invested in a fully collapsible laundry bag this year, and not to be dramatic, but it has changed my life. Goodbye days of banging my shins against the hard plastic of my old hamper as I hauled laundry up and down the stairs! Goodbye to my empty hamper still taking up space after I unloaded it, doing nothing but looking ugly! A super sturdy canvas duffle, like this one, can be a small investment in an easier domestic life.

Unsurprisingly, this laundry duffle is a popular gift to new college students, who tend to appreciate the strong carrying straps. Many reviewers mention how impressed they are with the strength of the canvas, making even weeks of dirty laundry manageable. One happy customer has bought four monogrammed duffle bags for her teenage grandsons and, according to her, they were all impressed.

Many reviewers mention receiving these tasty treats as a gift and becoming full fledged converts.

Did you know Lands’ End sells multiple cookies and candies that have major cult followings? No worries—neither did I. But there’s no other way to describe the popularity of the English Butter Toffee and Peppermint Crunch Cookies, both of which have earned dozens of glowing reviews from buyers, who say these treats have become staples in their pantries. Reviewers continuously race about how delectable these cookies are and how well-packaged they are, so they're definitely worth trying out.

13. A kids sleeping bag that will fit them as they grow

The thickness of this sleeping bag makes some reviewers feel like they have an extra comforter on hand.

This cute sleeping bag might be sold for kids, but according to many of the reviews, the sizing is so generous they could also work for smaller adults. With a polyester shell and stuffing and fleece lining, this sleeping bag is both absolutely cozy and easy to clean. Plus, unlike some sleeping bags that tend to bunch up or go flat, this one is padded generously—some reviewers even say it could work as an extra comforter. Reviewers say the colors are vibrant and attractive in person, and gives kids plenty of room to grow.

14. Adaptive clothing for kids and adults

Credit: Lands' End

This Oxford shirt is designed to help all kids be independent and comfortable.

The unfortunate truth is that many clothing retailers don’t yet carry or mark adaptive clothing, so it was a pleasant surprise to discover that Lands’ End is an exception. For those not familiar, adaptive clothing refers to fashion designed for people who either have challenges associated with dressing independently, or who have sensory issues that make certain textures uncomfortable. Like any form of accessibility, adaptive clothing can benefit a huge range of people. Lands’ End’s adaptive clothing line offers magnetic closures instead of buttons, and avoids uncomfortable textures like protruding seams or tags.

Of all the adaptive clothing at Lands’ End, this kids Oxford shirt is one of the most popular. One reviewer writes, "We brought this for our son who cannot use two hands to do buttons and it’s been amazing! The magnets snap firmly and easily and he is so much more independent! Life changing for him.” And others say its amazing, but also note one weak point: the buttons around the collar aren’t adaptive, which can be a problem if the shirt is paired with a necktie.

15. An ultra soft bathroom rug with hundreds of positive reviews

A reversible rug means that even if it's been a while since laundry day, there should always be a clean side.

Let’s be honest—those first few seconds when you step from the shower to the bathroom floor can be unpleasant. Getting out of a warm, steamy tub just to put your foot down on a thin or dirty rug is never a great feeling. Luckily, it’s pretty easy to prevent. With this plush, 100% cotton bath mat from Lands' End, there’s no reason for your clean feet to be anything but happy. Both machine-washable and reversible, this rug can stay attractive and absorbent for years.

16. A comforter to keep you warm, but not suffocated

Whether your interior decor tends more toward the exuberant or conservative, this hypoallergenic comforter will keep you cozy and warm.

I love comforters (like, ‘sleep under two of them way longer than is appropriate’ love). We have a lot of opinions about the best comforters you can buy, but we like the ones from Lands’ End for their super soft texture, even distribution of stuffing, and for how easy they are to wash. This set stands out for its bright and inviting patterns, from classic gingham to funky floral. Plus, with a microfiber fill, this comforter also promises relief to buyers who are allergic to down.
