We all want to be the kind of person that keeps a fresh bouquet of flowers on the kitchen table day in, day out, but who has the time? What if there is a way to display a bouquet that never wilts? Nope, we’re not talking about silk flowers. LEGO Botanicals do double duty offering flower arrangements for floral fans and build kits for crafters, all in one. And it's a home décor trend the internet is gushing over.

Classic LEGOs have come a long way from the colorblock bricks we played with in the 1970s and 1980s. Today, LEGO has collections that coordinate with TV characters, video games, and everyday items. And now, they are a sophisticated and practical way to incorporate florals at home.

What is the LEGO Botanicals Flower Bouquet?

The 756-piece Lego flower bouquet comes with 15 stems with plastic blooms like daisies, California poppies, and lavender.

LEGO's Botanical collection features flowers and plant kits, including bouquets and arrangements, bamboo, blossoms, orchids, succulents, sunflowers, and more. Sets are geared toward adults, with kits ranging anywhere from 500 pieces to over 1,000.

The LEGO Botanicals Flower Bouquet (available at Amazon for $47.99) we tested has 756 pieces that make up 15 stems with plastic blooms like daisies, California poppies, and lavender. Stems measure around 14 inches in height—about the same size you’d get in a bouquet with real flowers.

You can arrange the stems in one big bouquet, or you can separate them into several smaller arrangements.

What we like about LEGO Botanicals Flower Bouquet

Building it occupies a whole afternoon—and it's fun to do

Putting together the LEGO flower bouquet is a blast. While I do enjoy arranging freshly cut flowers from time to time, it certainly isn’t as fun as putting together this set. Admittedly, LEGOs weren’t my favorite activity growing up, so this was my first experience building a LEGO set.

With a podcast in the background, I spent an afternoon putting it together and found the whole experience delightful. Having an activity that didn’t involve any screen time was peaceful. Even if I made a mistake or mixed up pieces, they were easy to reqork and a great way to unwind.

Clear instructions make building a breeze

Instructions were clear enough, so you'll be ready for another fun time of classic Lego building.

The Flower Bouquet kit contains five clearly-labeled plastic pouches. These correspond to the steps in the instruction booklet so you know where to find the right materials.

The instructions are delivered through easy-to-understand images rather than words. Some of the pieces look similar, however, the instructions are in color to help better distinguish.

Having the pieces separated out in sections made the process straightforward. Rather than spill out all pieces on the table at once, I found it convenient to put the pieces into bowls to keep them organized.

Even though I don’t have children at home, I do have a perpetually-hungry cat who is curious about anything he finds on the floor, and I didn’t want to risk him trying to turn one of the colorful blocks into a snack. Luckily, the bowls kept everything contained and neatly organized along the way.

The Flower Bouquet is a unique take on classic décor

While this bouquet emulates the look of real flowers, it certainly isn't going to pass as the real thing.

The classic LEGO brick design is evident throughout this bouquet with its square edges, giving it a digitized look straight out of a round of Super Mario. The vibrant colors of the plastic blocks make it stand out. Since building the set, it’s brought a smile to my face every time I see it sitting on my kitchen table.

What we don’t like

Arranging the flower stems into a bouquet is harder than it looks

This is one of the more easy-to-moderate Lego sets to build, but arranging them together is a whole different story.

There's no denying the unique beauty of the LEGO flower bouquet, but getting it into formation is easier said than done. One wrong move can cause it to break apart. (Don’t ask me how I know.) Building the stems is a fairly simple process, however arranging them is a clumsy mess.

Moving the built stems caused some petals and leaves to fall off, so I had to stop and put it back together more times than I would’ve liked. Since the LEGO flowers are made from plastic, they are stiff and therefore not as easy to position in the vase like the flexible stem of a real bloom.

Each piece of the bouquet is top-heavy, causing the LEGO arrangement to tip over easily if the vase opening is too wide. For a sturdier setup, I recommend using a vase with a narrow opening and heavy bottom.

Should you buy the LEGO Botanicals Flower Bouquet?

Yes, it’s a fun activity and statement décor in one

Blends in perfectly as a set of real plants, and you don't even have to water these!

The kit is delightful to put together and a fun way to unwind.

It's also a beautiful piece of home décor. While fresh flowers will wilt within the week, this LEGO bouquet is a forever piece that will stay stunning wherever you keep it. It’s customizable as you can break up the stems into different vases around your home.

The good looks, versatility, and built-in fun of the LEGO Botanicals Flower Bouquet (available at Amazon for $47.99) make this décor trend worth buying into.
