No one really likes to vacuum, but it’s a necessary step in your cleaning routine to keep your floors looking tidy. The 671 features a 3-stage cleaning system that was designed with both carpets and hard floors in mind to loosen and lift away dirt, pet hair, and other particles large and small. It has smart navigation and WiFi connectivity as well, which means you can control it with the iRobot Home App, in addition to voice commanding it using Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant. (If Mom doesn’t already have a smart assistant, an Echo Dot or a Google Home Mini could be a great, affordable companion gift.)
While we haven’t had a chance to test this model just yet, Jonathan Chan, our resident robot vacuum expert, had this to say about the 671: “iRobot is a pretty trustworthy brand. I've seen how they test robot vacuums and they do a thorough job. Based on what I know about the 671 platform, I'd say it'll probably do a good job cleaning hardwood floors and light carpet but might struggle with throw rugs and deep pile.”
