Automation has been a part of kitchen life for decades. From coffee makers you can set to brew before you wake up to slow cookers that start while you’re at work—we’ve relied on these low-tech forms of automation long before AI was a glimmer on the horizon.
Over the past several years we’ve seen more complex technologies make life in the kitchen easier, and more fun. From the Brava Glass Oven and Tramontina Guru (CES 2023 winners) to the Current Electric Grill and GE Profile Indoor Smoker (CES 2024 winners), advanced technology is helping us cook better every day.
At CES 2025 we’re seeing technology that’s helping to solve big and small problems in the kitchen. From cooking based on a 3D scan and reducing waste by creating high-quality compost to addressing water scarcity—and even automating spice dispensing—the kitchen continues to get major technological upgrades.
Agari Smart Cooker
The Agari Smart Cooker is the first countertop multicooker with 3D imaging technology. It’s also equipped with low-heat pressure technology and remote temperature sensing for sous-vide-style cooking without vacuum bags.
Although it occupies a relatively large countertop footprint, its double-walled design allows for instant preheating—literally in 30 seconds—and enables more precise cooking. It’s the next generation of slow cooker, pressure cooker, and countertop oven all in one, amped up with next-level technology. “Cooking perfectly requires precision, but it doesn’t have to require effort,” said the Agari Kitchen team. “We created the Agari Smart Cooker to ensure anyone can achieve professional-quality results at the push of a button, no matter how busy their schedule.”

LILA Composter
The LILA Composter creates Category A compost with very little effort on the user's part.
Home composting is gaining major popularity, especially now that the effort has been nearly reduced to that of a traditional trash can. The LILA composter can process everything from meat scraps and egg shells to veggie remnants and coffee grounds—even paper towels if they’re ripped up first. LILA claims that its “advanced technology combines natural microbes and aerobic decomposition, no need for any additives like filters, microbes, or substrates.” With odor-blocking technology, a minimal power draw, and its Category A compost output, the LILA composter could be the easiest solution for home composting yet.

Kara Pod Air-to-Water + Coffee Dispenser
The Kara Pod turns air into water or coffee.
This dual-purpose drinking water and pod-based coffee machine pulls water out of thin air. Kara Water is on a mission to address the increasing scarcity of water with its desiccant-based air-to-water technology. After successfully using this technology to create the large-scale Kara Pure water dispenser, Kara Water is introducing its first countertop solution with this water + coffee machine. It can produce up to seven liters of water per day, to be dispensed as purely filtered water or made into coffee.
Keeping its eye on sustainability, Kara Pod is partnering with coffee roasters to deliver high-quality coffee in pods that are fully compostable and biodegradable. The machine features a touchscreen interface and two nozzles so coffee and water stay separated—no flavor cross-contamination.

Spicerr smart spice dispenser
Spicerr makes it easy to dispense precise amounts of spices at the touch of a button.
Spicerr is a smart spice dispenser, making it easier to store and measure spices for seasoning food. We love this concept because having a selection of your favorite spices in a smart auto-dispensing system can make it so much easier to add flavor to food.
If you ever skip adding spices because you don’t feel like getting out the individual containers and measuring spoons, this is the perfect solution. Spicerr holds six spice capsules at a time and features a touchscreen for precise measurements as well as easy blending. It comes with 12 spice capsules in the starter kit.
Plus, the companion app with recipes adds another level of ease to making delicious dishes. You’ll be able to send your own recipes to the Spicerr app and the device will dispense all the spices for the recipe. An AI component means that Spicerr will learn and build a flavor profile based on your preferences and uses. Spicerr will sell capsules of high-quality spices specially designed for its system.
