KitchenAid has been busy celebrating a milestone birthday in 2019—the big 100. As part of the festivities, the company released the Limited Edition Heritage Artisan Series version of the top-rated 5-quart stand mixer, now in a brand new shade.
Welcome, Misty Blue, KitchenAid’s 2019 Color of the Year. It’s a soft hue similar to powder blue, but with the slightest hint of green in its undertone. The ideal color choice to complement today’s gray and white kitchens, Misty Blue is modern, retro and completely classic at the same time. You can buy an old-school hobnailed white bowl for it or stick with a bowl in creamy stainless steel.
The stand mixer is unbeatable
There's good reason for the iconic status of the KitchenAid stand mixer. It always delights home bakers, and with 14 attachments, it’s versatile enough to handle almost any cooking-related chore. Of course, it looks great on the countertop, whether in Misty Blue or in any of the 80-some other colors. These mixers are literally unbeatable, and KitchenAid has been named one of the top three most relevant brands to Millennials in 2019. Those are some serious accolades for a brand celebrating its hundredth birthday.
A Misty Blue oven to match that stand mixer
KitchenAid 's KDRS467VMB range is a knockout in Misty Blue and it's loaded with commercial-style features. We haven't tested it yet, but we'll let you know whether it's worth $7,000 once we do.
As if a misty-colored mixer wasn’t enough, you can also find Misty Blue adorning KitchenAid’s latest oven, a commercial-style limited edition 36-inch six-burner dual fuel freestanding range, the KDRS467VMB. It is easily one of the prettiest ranges around, with chunky knobs and a gnarled bar handle complementing the color.
The KitchenAid range also rocks a powerful pair of burners that can reach a maximum of 20,000 BTU, and an oven with true convection. All that doesn't come cheap, and you won’t be able to pick it up for much under $7,000. We haven’t tested it yet, so we don't know whether it's worth the investment, but we’ll update you once we’ve put it through the paces in our labs.
