*June 29, 2006 – *The world’s largest subscription-based photo stock agency announced on Tuesday that the company added its 850,000th image to their photo library, says Tuesday’s Shutterstock press release.
In this year alone, the photo agency grew by 70 percent.
"We are proud of the numbers, but we are more concerned with quality than quantity," says Shutterstock CEO Jon Oringer.
The Shutterstock website, launched in 2003, consists of nearly 30,000 photographers who contribute to the 30 photo categories, including nature, people, religion, and vintage. The royalty-free images are available for subscribers, made up of advertisers, publishers, and designers.
Shutterstock subscription fees range from $159 for a one month membership to a year membership at the cost of $1599. Users can download a maximum of 25 photos a day.
