July 25, 2006 – Yesterday SanDisk Corp. released sales figures for the second quarter, reporting a 40 percent increase in sales.

The "world’s largest supplier of flash storage cards," as SanDisk calls itself, produced a sales figure of $719 million with a net income of $96 million in the second quarter, according to yesterday’s press release, due in large part to mobile card sales. The SanDisk micro SD card was their number one selling product this past quarter. The fastest growing products were the popular SanDisk Extreme memory cards.

SanDisk also released the Extreme IV CompactFlash product line this past month, which the company hails as the "world’s fastest cards," according to a July 19th press release.

SanDisk plans to build a joint company NAND wafer plant with Toshiba in Yokkaichi, Japan in 2007, stated the release.
