Forget tedious color correction – the Panasonic Lumix DMC-L10 produces accurate, vivid colors right out of the camera. We’re in the midst of testing Panasonic’s flagship DSLR, and have found some very pleasing results. In our color accuracy test, the camera produced an astonishing L**a**b mean color error of 4.55 in Standard Film mode, its default setting. This is the most accurate camera we have ever tested, reproducing the colors of our test chart almost perfectly. Accuracy this good will eliminate hours spent correcting unsightly colors in Photoshop. For comparison, the Canon EOS 1D Mark III had a mean color error of 5.69 in Faithful mode, and the Olympus EVOLT E-510 produced a 5.87.
Does the rest of the L10 live up to its fantastic color accuracy? Stay tuned for our full review coming in the next few weeks.
