Olympus adds VR-340 and VG-160 to ultracompact lineup
Olympus announced two new additions to its V series of compact cameras today. Both the VR-340 and the VG-160 will be aggressively priced, simplified models designed for users of all skill levels.

Olympus announced two new additions to its V series of compact cameras today. Both the VR-340 and the VG-160 will be aggressively priced, simplified models designed for users of all skill levels.
The slightly more expensive VR-340 will offer 16 megapixel resolution and 10x optical zoom with a wide angle lens. The camera will be capable of HD video capture, and the software includes in-camera editing features like Beauty mode and Makeup. The VR-340 should be available this Spring for $149.99, in cream, purple, black, chrome, and red.
The VG-160 will be a highly simplified camera with iAuto mode, featuring 14 megapixel resolution, 5x optical zoom, and a 3 inch rear LCD display. This model with also be capable of HD video, as well as HDMI output. The VG-160 should also be available this Spring, for $99.99 and in your choice of chrome, orange, black, or red.
