Nikon updated its ViewNX photo browser to version 1.0.3. Available for both Windows and Macintosh operating systems, ViewNX now adds movie sorting capabilities and other display improvements. With Nikon ViewNX 1.0.3, .Mov, AVI, and MPEG-1 movie files can now be played back. The browser displays the first frame of movie clips as thumbnails in the Grid for easier sorting. Among other changes, the photo browser software has automatic lumination correction for D3 images, or pictures resulting from the AF-S VR Zoom-Nikkor 70-200mm f/2.8G IF-ED and AF-S Zoom 80-200mm f/2.8 IF-ED lenses.
Nikon ViewNX is used for viewing and converting JPEG, TIFF, and RAW NEF files. In addition to select Coolpix point-and-shoots, the Nikon ViewNX supports the following Nikon SLR models:
