January 31, 2007 – Nikon released yesterday firmware updates for the DSLR models, the D80 update version 1.0.1 and D40 version 1.1. The Nikon updates correct a number of minor corruptions.

The Nikon D80 firmware update 1.0.1 addresses issues with Shutter-priority and Aperture-priority when using the built-in flash and improves  the long exposure noise reduction setting.

The Nikon D40 firmware update 1.1 is now certified for Windows Vista, the PC operating system update that was released yesterday. Among other improvements are the ISO settings, the white balance icon in shooting menus, and AF settings.

Both firmware updates correct a bug in which the cameras froze when using the retouch menu. The updates also fix errors in language menus in English, Polish, Swedish, and traditional Chinese.
