September 4, 2006 – Nikon updated its Capture NX software to accept raw files from the new D80 and to improve various tools and interfaces in the program itself. The version 1.0.1 image editing software retails for $149.
The update improves the batch processes, browser and view menus, file directory and camera settings palettes, lasso and marquee tools, print layout dialog, edit list, and control points, according to the Nikon web site.
Nikon Capture NX software was announced in February with its original release slated for May. A few setbacks in its development schedule occurred, which pushed it to a July release. The software replaces Nikon’s Capture 4 program; users of that version can upgrade to NX for $89.
