New Nikon PC-E Micro NIKKOR 45mm f/2.8D ED and PC-E Micro NIKKOR 85mm f/2.8D lenses

Nikon had a busy day today and in addition to unveiling the D700 and SB-900 Speedlight they also introduced the new PC-E Micro NIKKOR 45mm f/2.8D ED and PC-E Micro NIKKOR 85mm f/2.8D lenses.

Nikon had a busy day today and in addition to unveiling the D700 and SB-900 Speedlight  they also introduced the new PC-E Micro NIKKOR 45mm f/2.8D ED and PC-E Micro NIKKOR 85mm f/2.8D lenses. The Perspective Control (PC) lenses claim to correct linear distortion and have a "shift" control, which provides correction by "effectively" moving the apparent position of the camera.

The new PC-E Micro NIKKOR 45mm f/2.8D ED and PC-E Micro NIKKOR 85mm f/2.8D offer a combined standard-to-medium telephoto range and features an electronically controlled aperture. The PC-E Micro NIKKOR 45mm f/2.8D ED lens in turn features an Extra-low Dispersion (ED) glass element and is and offers a medium-telephoto angle of view.

The PC-E Micro NIKKOR 45mm f/2.8D ED and PC-E Micro NIKKOR 85mm f/2.8D lenses  will be available by  August 2008 for an estimated selling price of $1,799.95 and $1,739.95, respectively.
