January 3, 2007 – Eastman Kodak Co. and Sony Corp. announced today a cross-licensing agreement that will allow each manufacturer to have "broad access" to each other’s patents, according to a brief Kodak press release today.  Kodak and cell phone manufacturer Sony Ericsson Mobile Communications AB will also cross license technology.

The Kodak-Sony announcement comes days before the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2007 in Las Vegas, scheduled to open next week. Traditionally, Kodak has used the CES platform to exhibit technological innovation and corporate partnerships.

Last year at CES 2006, Kodak announced a 10 year partnership with mobile phone manufacturer Motorola and spoke of plans for a hybrid camera phone.

Details and financial terms about the Kodak-Sony deal have not yet been disclosed.
