December 7, 2004* — ILFORD is wrapping up its 125th anniversary celebration in 2004 by offering free Marilyn Monroe calendars. The calendar can be downloaded and printed from the ILFORD home page. Perhaps it’s a subtle promotion for the company’s new ink jet paper — they recommend pearl or glossy finish for this project — but the cost of paper and ink will be well worth the calendar.

The photographs come from the personal collection of Sam and Larry Shaw, a famous father-son photographer duo. Sam Shaw was widely recognized as Marilyn’s favorite photographer. He took the famous photo of Marilyn walking over a vent with her dress catching the air. Larry Shaw is known for his photographs of Duke Ellington and Louis Armstrong. The Shaw Family granted ILFORD permission to use a series of the photographs to create the 2005 calendar.

The Marilyn ‘The Legend’ calendar is available in .pdf format and can be printed on 8 ½ x 11-inch paper or 11 x 17-inch paper. The calendar has several photographs from the set of "The Seven Year Itch" and several from the personal collection of Sam Shaw.
