June 21, 2006 – Digital camera and printer manufacturer HP announced today that the company is working towards resolving ink patent infringements by retail giants Walgreens Co. and OfficeMax, according to today's HP press release. The aforementioned alleged infringers are cooperating with HP. In an effort to protect their intellectual rights, HP routinely tests other products around the world. This is how the company discovered the ink patent infringements of Walgreens and OfficeMax generic-brand ink refilling stations. HP has over 4,000 patents on printing supplies.
