September 29, 2005 –* Fujifilm announced a new addition to its F-line of digital cameras: the FinePix F460. The new model has the same 5.1 megapixels as the Fujifilm FinePix F450, but adds a larger LCD monitor and a few more scene modes. Both cameras are aimed at the point-and-shoot market with their very basic list of functions. The new F460 will be available in late October in Japan and on a limited basis in the United States.
The Fujifilm FinePix F460’s body is 0.8 inches thick, just like the square-shaped and thin F450. The new model adds a slight handgrip and a mode dial with three simple choices: auto, scene position, and movie. The F450 had only four scene modes: Sports, Portrait, Landscape, and Night. The new F460 adds six more to that list: Beach & Snow, Sunset, Museum, Party, Flower Close-up, and Text.
The stylish metal housing has a large 2.5-inch LCD screen which is larger than the older F450’s 2-inch monitor. The Fujifilm FinePix F460 also adds 13 MB of internal memory to the feature set.
