The CompactFlash Association (CFA) will publish the specifications of a new and faster CFast card in May. The new card will feature a SATA (Serial ATA) interface, which makes it possible to achieve interface data rates up to 3Gb/sec and compatibility with the SATA disk drive interfaces.
Currently CompactFlash cards are available up to 48GB with sustained data rates of 45MB/sec. The latest CompactFlash published Specification; Revision 4.1 is available to download from the CFA web site at http://www.compactflash.org.
