DSLRs make fantastic holiday gifts (whether for someone else or yourself), but if you're worried about giving a camera to someone who's prone to the "dropsies," you can rest a little easier.

That's because Canon is gifting 13 months of its carePAK Plus coverage for all eligible products purchased between October 11th, 2015 and January 9th, 2016.

The carePAK coverage is a pretty sweet deal. It includes coverage from drops, spills, power surges, and "other unforeseen events." You also get priority service and free return shipping, with no deductibles.

There is a significant catch: Only certain Canon products are eligible, and they're mostly on the pricey side.

Best of all, the service is completely transferable, so whether you're selling the gear or giving it away, the new owner will benefit. There's also a "No Lemon" guarantee, so if the camera develops the same problem three times, Canon will just replace it with a new one.
