**Oct. 2, 2007* - Taiwan-based BenQ yesterday announced the latest addition to its line of digital cameras. The X735 has 7.2 megapixels, a 3x "wise zoom," and a 2.5-inch LCD screen. Pricing has not been announced. The BenQ X735 is expected to ship to Latin America, Europe, and the Asia Pacific regions in early October.

The X735 includes face tracking technology, similar to the Super Slim T800 and C840 models announced last month. Face tracking finds and focuses on up to nine faces.

The X735 is equipped with 29 Scene modes, including Night Scene, Beach, Snow, Fireworks, and Museum. For increased sensitivity, the BenQ X735 includes a Super Shake Free mode, which has a 2000 ISO setting. In Movie mode, sensitivity can be adjusted up to 6400 ISO.

In addition to the 3x optical zoom, the X735 has up to 30x digital zoom, according to a company press release today.

The camera accepts SD memory cards and is compatible with PictBridge devices for direct printing.

The BenQ X735 is less than a half-inch thick (12.5mm) and has a stainless steel body. The camera will be available in Vixen Red or Midnight Black.
