March 30, 2007* - Ansmann Energy International this week announced the release of two new battery grips for the Nikon D80 and D40 digital cameras. The N-80 pro and N-40 succeed the Powergrip C-400, designed for use with Canon’s 350D and 400D digital cameras.

The N-80 pro model, designed for the Nikon D80, can power 5,000 shots with one charge, according to the company press release. It features an additional shutter release, function wheels and memory keys. It also comes with a car charger. The N-40, designed for the Nikon D40, can take 2,000 photos on one charge. It does not include any additional features.

The battery grips will be available at the end of April 2007.
