Last week, Adobe announced it will stop selling its Creative Suite software and instead focus on the subscription-based Creative Cloud. Not surprisingly, the internet is abuzz with speculation about how this will affect users: Who’s getting screwed over? What does it mean for upgrades? Is Adobe just trying to stem the tide of illegal downloading? How can they do this? The nerve! There's even an online petition to eliminate the mandatory subscription model, which had more than 14,000 signers at the time of this writing.
But the most important question has to do with price: Is Creative Cloud a better deal for customers? We thought this issue important enough to warrant a graphical breakdown of how the Creative Cloud subscription works, what it costs, and how it will—or will not—work for you.
