In Peter Pan's world, "All you need is faith, trust, and pixie dust," but in my world, all I need is some concealer, an eyebrow pencil, brow gel, and my newest discovery: the E.L.F. Skin Bronzing Drops. And if you're on top of the trending beauty products du jour like me, you probably know that bronzing drops are a hot commodity these days, considering that leading social media personalities like Alix Earle popularized the Drunk Elephant D-Bronzi Anti-Pollution Sunshine Drops.
It appears that E.L.F.'s take on the popular trend comes pretty close to the $40 bronzing drops that started the craze in the first place. While the drops' primary purpose is to give your complexion a radiance boost, I found that it can double as a dewy, sheer base. Keep scrolling to learn why these new bronzing drops should be your next beauty buy.

What are the E.L.F. Skin Bronzing Drops?
E.L.F.'s interpretation of Bronzing Drops is considered to be a "tinted serum" that promises to lend "a warm, sun-kissed glow" to the complexion. Per the brand, they can be applied all over the face or other parts of your body that you think need a bit of an extra glow. The serum's hero ingredients include vitamin E and sunflower seed oil, which work together to help moisturize the skin. E.L.F.'s Bronzing Drops are offered in what the brand calls "three flexible shades:" "Rose Gold with Rose Gold Shimmer"(for fair to medium skin tones), "Pure Gold with Yellow Gold Shimmer"(for light to tan skin tones), and "Copper Gold with Copper Gold Shimmer" (for medium to rich skin tones). One bottle goes for $12.
How I tested the E.L.F. Skin Bronzing Drops
To compliment my light-medium skin tone, I tested the shade "Rose Gold with Rose Gold Shimmer." As recommended by the brand's instructions, I added three drops of the serum to my moisturizer, then rubbed my moisturizer into my skin like normal. I didn't apply any foundation over them. My additional makeup touchups included dots of concealer along my under eyes, a dusting of brown eyeshadow over my lids, and primping brows with a tinted brow gel and brow pencil.
What I like about the E.L.F. Skin Bronzing Drops
They're streak-free.
Bronzing drops and bronzers in general tend to leave streaks in their tracks, and in the case of E.L.F.'s drops, not a single streak was to be seen. Rather, a beaming, bronzed glow was what emerged.
They double as a sheer base.
After putting them on, I liked what I saw in the mirror. Though I have numerous red acne scars on my face, I didn't have the urge to cover them up with foundation. The glow and tanned finish were enough for me. I'd be remiss not to mention that I did tweak my look with some concealer, eyeshadow, brow gel, and a brow pencil. The rest of my complexion didn't need a full-on foundation mask.
They last all day.
I wore the tint for about 12 hours, and the glow was still there when it was time for me to wash my face at night. My face did feel oily at the end of the day, but that's normal for me even on days when I'm not wearing makeup.
They have an expansive shade range.
I'll give credit where credit is due—compared to other popular bronzing drop picks like Saie Beauty's Glowy Super Gel in "Sunglow," the Drunk Elephant D-Bronzi Anti-Pollution Sunshine Drops, and the Glow Recipe Watermelon Glow Niacinamide Hue Drops Sun Glow Serum, E.L.F.'s bronzing drops have a comprehensive shade range, given that the aforementioned bronzing drops come in one shade instead of three like E.L.F.'s. Its three-part lineup gives more people the opportunity to get their hands on bronzing drops that are compatible with their skin tone.
What I don't like about the E.L.F. Skin Bronzing Drops
Nothing!
Aside from the temporary stains that the bronzing drops left on my hands, there aren't any drawbacks to using this product. It does what it sought to do and more.
Are the E.L.F. Skin Bronzing Drops worth it?
Yes, for sure.
At a relatively affordable price of $12, the E.L.F. Skin Bronzing Drops are a steal compared to their premium beauty competitors. And better yet, they live up to what they're supposed to do, which means you'll always have that sun-kissed glow when adding these drops to your makeup routine.
