Jean Levasseur has been using tools, writing, or both for his entire career. Some of his early jobs included doing grunt work in his mother’s mechanic shop, moving dirt and laying pipe on his father’s excavation crews, and working across New England as a conveyor installer and mechanic.
After graduating from Fitchburg State College, Jean went on to a decade-long career in marketing, public relations, and technical writing for organizations such as the X PRIZE Foundation, Captains of Industry, and Spartan Systems. He also earned an MA in English and Teaching from Salem State University and spent several years teaching academic writing at the University of Massachusetts, Lowell.
After leaving that writing career to stay home to care for his twin boys, Jean started contributing part-time to Reviewed.com, covering anything related to tools, DIY, and home repair. He’s tested a wide range of products, from chainsaws to gaming chairs. He is an avid woodworker, documenting projects both personal and for clients on his NineRings WoodCraft YouTube channel. When he’s not chasing and coaching the twins or woodworking, he’s a fiction writer and an enthusiastic gamer.
