Save 17% on the Apple 10.9-Inch WiFi iPad Air (5th Generation) with this Prime Day deal

$499.99 at Amazon (Save $99.01)

The Apple iPad Air is our favorite tablet. Like the iPad Pro, the iPad Air features the company’s laptop-class M1 chip, helping it deliver the same performance and much of the core experience. Its battery life is excellent, lasting about 10 hours for light browsing or 8 hours for more vigorous work. Even an hour or two of streaming movies or TV shows won’t kill the battery.

2. Apple iPad Mini (6th Generation)

$399.99 at Amazon (Save $99.01)

Another of our favorites, the Apple iPad Mini (6th Generation) is the perfect compact tablet option. Thanks to its small size, it’s easy to hold for longer periods of time and one hand can support it comfortably while the other writes with an Apple Pencil 2. Performance is excellent, outperforming the base iPad and coming close to the iPad Air. It’s even quicker than most similarly-priced PC laptops. During testing, we found it to be a great day-to-day use device for tasks like streaming video, reading, and answering emails.

Save 32% on the Kindle Paperwhite with this Prime Day deal

$94.99 at Amazon (Save $45)

The Kindle Paperwhite has been our favorite E Ink display for a while now. With a display resolution of 300 PPI (pixels per inch), text and grayscale images on the Kindle Paperwhite 2021 version appear crisp, and it has 17 strategically-placed LEDs, so side lighting is consistent. The latest version also has a faster processor, so books load faster and the transition from page to page is smoother.

4. Amazon Kindle (11th Gen, 2022)

$94.99 at Amazon (Save $25)

The Amazon Kindle (11th Generation, 2022) is Amazon's base Kindle model, and we think it's the best option for most people. It offers most of the features of the larger, feature-packed Kindle Paperwhite for less money. We tested the 2022 Kindle with 16 GB of storage, which has enough room to hold thousands of e-books or dozens of audiobooks to listen to via Audible with Bluetooth.

5. Google Pixel Tablet with Charging Speaker Dock

Save 18% on the Google Pixel Tablet with this Prime Day deal

$409 at Amazon (Save $90)

Google takes a different approach with the Pixel Tablet than its competitors, designing it mainly for media consumption as opposed to creation or productivity. And it really shines for watching videos, listening to music, browsing the web or video chatting. It also acts as a great hub for controlling your smartphone devices.
