Steer clear of food and drool from kids to elderly

My son has cerebral palsy. He has trouble controlling the muscles in his body, including his mouth muscles. This means he sometimes has trouble managing his saliva. We do our best to help him stay fresh by using a variety of adult bibs (or as his sister calls them, “fashionable bandanas”) to catch any unwanted mess.
Of course, I want a bib that is functional so my son stays dry, but I also want him to look stylish. We’ve tested seven varieties of “fashionable bandanas” which are listed below. Many of them are great for people with disabilities of all ages, infants or children, as well as the elderly. Overall, I’m really impressed by the variety of adult bibs on the market and was very happy with most of these products after regular use.
Popular bibs for adults we tested
Drybble Organic Bibs
Drybble was started by a dentist who is also a mom of two. The brand sells super soft bibs made of organic cotton in infant, child, and adult sizes. Drybble bibs are available in 15 colors from royal blue to pink and orange, as well as some great pastel color options. With four buttons in the back, they are easy to secure tightly around my son’s neck and keep his clothes dry.
These cotton adult and child bibs were designed by a dentist mom who calls herself a certified drool expert.
Droolist Special Needs Bibs
These Droolist bibs are made to order from a family business. They're reversible, thick, and absorbant.
These bibs from Droolist are sold on Etsy and come in three sizes: small (ages 3-6), medium (ages 6-12), and large (ages 12-adult). Droolist is also a family-owned business. A husband and wife started the company together and handmake each order. Sold in numerous colors and designs, these toddler-to-adult bibs are reversible, super thick, and absorbent. They wash well and are also long lasting.
These multi-sized bibs have a special wicking layer designed to combat moisture.
Jiuguva Adult Bandana Bibs
Jiuguva bibs come in a multipack with a huge variety of styles. They may not be suited for smaller users.
Jiuguva sells a variety of different bib sets, including this pack of Adult Drool Bandana Bibs. The paisley pack of eight features vivid colors, and the designs are large and waterproof. The instructions say to hand wash only, but I machine wash mine and haven’t had an issue. The three snaps on the back allow for minor size adjustments, but these bibs might not be suitable for smaller individuals.
If you want to buy bandana bibs in bulk with a wide variety of styles, it doesn’t hurt to start with this value-focused Jiuguva set.
Baby Noah Adult Bandana Bibs
These Baby Noah bibs are soft to the touch, but they don't react well to moisture.
These adult bibs from the Baby Noah Store are soft to the touch, which is nice for people who are sensitive and want an ultra-comfortable cloth around their necks. However, through testing, I found the softer fabrics tend to get wet faster than other, more waterproof, fabrics. They are available in one size, which has been fine for my petite tween son. Available in four sets of three different color choices—from navy, gray, and turquoise to a mix of pinks and purples—they match a wide variety of outfits.
These bibs are super soft, but they may not hold up well to heavy moisture.
Janmercy Adult Bandana Bibs
Janmercy bibs are big and come in a variety pack with multiple patterns.
Janmercy sells a pack of five water-absorbent bibs with designs in combinations of black, white, and blue. These bibs are on the larger side and come in one adult size. Each bib has three buttons to adjust the size, but they are best suited for people over 4 years old.
The large size allows my son to wear them for long periods of time. The manufacturer also suggests to hand wash only, but I haven’t had an issue putting these in the washing machine.
These Janmercy bibs run a bit larger than other products on this list, but they’re still highly absorbent and functional.
KayCey B Bibs
KayCey bibs are breathable and have a stylish high-neck look.
These fleece-lined cotton bibs come in four solid colors as well as a variety of stripes and designs. They were created by Special Kids Company, a company in England founded by a relative of someone with disabilities.
I love their high-neck look, which is uniquely appealing and stylish. The fabric is very soft with breathable cotton on the front and a fleece-lined back. Since they are only available in one size, these bibs are good for older children or adults.
These bibs have a unique look that makes them super stylish. Four neutral color options ensure they match with any outfit.
Cat & Jack Adaptive and Adjustable Bibs
These Target-made bibs come in kid-friendly patterns.
I love Target’s commitment to kids with disabilities and their large offering of adaptive wear. This set of three bibs by Cat & Jack comes in two sets of varying color options, from blues and greens to oranges and pinks. The soft fabric feels good, but the design is better suited for the younger population. They offer one size with three adjustable snaps.
These bibs from Target are made with a soft cotton blend and a double layer construction.
