Romance films? For spring? Groundbreaking. Anne Hathaway, star of iconic films including "The Devil Wears Prada" and "The Princess Diaries," is the lead in a new entry to the genre film landscape, with a somewhat unique premise.
Hathaway will star alongside Nicholas Galitzine in "The Idea of You," the story of an older woman who falls for the 24-year-old singer who leads her daughter's favorite boy band. The film is a an Amazon Studios original, and will premiere direct-to-streaming on Thursday, May 2.

What is 'The Idea of You' about?
"The Idea of You" is based on the novel of the same name by Robinne Lee, which tells the story of Solène Marchand, a single mom who embarks on a romance with the 24-year-old lead singer of August Moon, her daughter's favorite band. In the film Solène is played by Hathaway, and Hayes, the boyband lead singer, is played by Galitzine. The two have a fateful meeting at Coachella that leads to a whirlwind romance.
"The Idea of You" is directed by Michael Showalter, and was written by Showalter and Jennifer Westfeldt.
